EATING FOR BEAUTIFUL SKIN

Everyone wants beautiful skin, but it's easier said than done. Let's be honest here. We spend too much time taking care of everyone else, that we forget to take care of ourselves! It's a huge problem…one that I bet you've faced a million times before. Don't make the same mistake again! Let me guide you in the right direction to gorgeous glowing skin - and these 10 superfoods for glowing skin are the way to go!

If you want to have a glowy, dewy complexion, then it's time to start incorporating these 10 superfoods for glowing skin into your diet!

#1 BLUEBERRIES

Blueberries are packed with antioxidants that help fight off free radicals and keep your skin looking young and vibrant. They also have anti-inflammatory properties that can prevent wrinkles from forming in the first place, so this is one of our favorite superfoods for glowing skin!

They also contain vitamin C, which stimulates collagen production and helps to repair damaged skin cells.

When it comes to eating blueberries for glowing skin, I like to eat them raw in a salad with spinach, feta cheese, almonds and olive oil dressing. This combination is super tasty and healthy!

#2 KALE

Kale has been called the "queen of greens" for good reason —Kale is one of the most nutrient-dense foods on the planet, and can help you achieve flawless skin in a variety of ways. It's high in vitamins A and C which help your body fight off free radicals that can cause premature aging, as well as omega-3 fatty acids that keep your skin hydrated and plump.

In addition to its ability to keep your skin healthy, kale is also high in fiber which helps keep you feeling full longer so you don't overeat. That means you'll have less stress on your body from digesting food that's more likely to result in breakouts than by eating lots of kale!

#3 SPINACH

Spinach is one of my favorite superfoods for glowing skin. It is packed with vitamins A and C—which are great for keeping your skin clear, bright, and smooth. Plus, it's loaded with antioxidants that will help prevent free radicals from destroying your skin cells. It's also a great source of iron and calcium, which are important for maintaining healthy hair, nails and bones.

Try adding spinach into your smoothies or salads (or even soups) on a regular basis so that you can get all the benefits from this amazing leafy green!

#4 SWEET POTATOES

This sweet root vegetable is loaded with Vitamin A, beta-carotene and alpha-carotene, which can help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and age spots. and these two types of carotenoids help protect against sun damage and prevent inflammation. They also contain vitamin C, which helps your body produce collagen (the protein that keeps skin elastic) Plus, they help maintain healthy blood sugar levels and boost mood.

#5 SALMON

Salmon is high in Omega 3 fatty acids, which are great for your heart, brain, and joints and are essential for healthy skin. This can help reduce inflammation and promote cell turnover, resulting in smooth, glowing skin.

The best part about salmon? It's a powerhouse of nutrients and Omega-3s also help keep your skin hydrated and healthy by increasing blood flow. This will leave your body feeling nourished and satisfied! They also help fight off free radicals that can damage your skin cells and cause them to age prematurely.

#6 AVOCADOS

Avocados are amazing for your skin. They have tons of antioxidants in them and help with anti-aging as well as keeping your skin moisturized and soft. They are high in healthy fats and contain vitamins A and C, which are both essential for maintaining healthy skin cells and preventing premature aging of the skin! The healthy fats in avocados, also helps your body produce collagen and elastin. These two proteins play a huge role in keeping your skin looking firm, bright and healthy.

#7 RED BELL PEPPERS

Red bell peppers are packed with vitamin C, which helps your body produce collagen (a major component of healthy, youthful-looking skin). Vitamin C is also an antioxidant that helps fight free radicals in your body. These free radicals can cause premature aging and wrinkles, so getting plenty of vitamin C can help protect against them.

#8 WATERCRESS

Watercress is a leafy green vegetable with a peppery taste. It's also packed with nutrients and antioxidants that can help boost your complexion. Watercress is one of the best foods for your skin. It helps keep your skin looking young and tight, and it works wonders on dryness and wrinkles. Watercress is also packed with vitamins like A, C, K and B6 which help keep your body healthy and glowing from the inside out.

#9 NUTS

Nuts are rich in vitamins and minerals, which help to maintain healthy skin. They are also high in protein, which helps to strengthen your hair. Nuts are also high in omega-3 fatty acids, which have been shown to help reduce inflammation and improve skin texture. They also contain protein which helps your body produce collagen and elastin which keep your skin firm and smooth. They also contain selenium, which helps regulate the production of melanin (the pigment that determines your skin tone) and protects against sunburns.

#10 PAPAYA

This little fruit packs a punch when it comes to getting rid of acne scars and dark spots on your face. Papaya contains vitamin C which helps reduce inflammation in your body and helps heal damaged tissues faster - so any time there's an inflammatory response happening in your body (like when acne forms), vitamin C will help reduce it!

Papaya's enzyme content makes it great for exfoliating, but it's also rich in vitamin A, which helps keep your skin hydrated and smooth. So if you're looking for a natural way to get rid of those pesky fine lines and wrinkles, start eating papaya!

SUPERIOR SUPPLEMENTS

Since what seems like the dawn of time, our parents have been telling us to take our vitamins every day, right? Well, turns out mom and dad knew what they were talking about. Taking supplements is a great way to help us feel our best as we age. Look for supplements that are formulated with unique antioxidants, and important vitamins and minerals specific for anti-aging support. One of my favorites is Tēgreen 97®. It's Green tea greatness. It's a highly concentrated extract of the antioxidants found naturally in green tea and helps promote long-term cellular health. This stuff has the antioxidant power of 7 cups of tea in each capsule.

Also, collagen is a protein found throughout our bodies, specifically in our skin, that helps our skin appear more youthful. But as we age, the production of collagen in our bodies slows down—1.5% less every year to be specific. Luckily, taking supplements can help replenish this depleting protein. And taking a product containing powerful collagen peptides, like Beauty Focus™ Collagen+, is a great solution because it is easy for the body to digest and absorb.
